Southern Blizzard Survival 101: Bread and Milk

6 Jan

It’s a well-known fact among southerners that when the threat of a nasty blizzard is announced you must immediately stock up on loaves of bread and gallons upon gallons of delicious milk.

Due to this odd phenomenon and the recent frigid weather advisory, I would like to remind our customers we do indeed sell both bread and milk every day.

If you’re stopping to get gas (or even if you aren’t), our friendly Mapco Mart convenience stores will get you these blizzard survival staples without having to fight the crowds.

So bundle up and don’t forget to stock up on the way home!

Successful Holiday Charity Toy Drive

28 Dec

For every toy purchased at a MAPCO convenience store this holiday season, an additional toy was donated to a less fortunate child – making the company’s Local Charity Toy Drive efforts a resounding success.

To help make the holidays a little better for those less fortunate, each of MAPCO’s retail store divisions partnered with over 50 local charities, including the Nashville Toys for Tots program and Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes.

“How can I ever thank you and your employees for all they have done for TBCH this Christmas,” said Carl W. Willis, East TN Regional Vice President of Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes, which partnered with MAPCO’s Chattanooga Division. “As of yesterday we have received over 17,000 items from the toy drive.”

A few individuals operating in the retail stores took the initiative to get this program started and as a result, more children have something under the tree this year.

Having participated in similar charity programs at previous companies in the past, District Manager Mike Rydell initiated the Toy drive in Chattanooga and Division Manager David Sanders coordinated the efforts. The charity drive soon became a company-wide effort that’s had a great impact this holiday season.

“I am so very proud of our management teams and their staff for making this project such a huge success!,” Sanders said. “My heart-felt thanks for your loyalty and support of our company and its initiatives of being a positive influence in our communities.”

Help Us Help Santa: Local Charity Toy Drive

4 Dec

For this year’s Holiday season, all of the retail stores in the Mapco family (Mapco Mart, Mapco Express, Favorite Market, Fast and Food, East Coast) are partnering with local charities to help bring a little bit of joy to those who might otherwise get overlooked.

When you walk into our stores from now until the end of December*, you’ll be able to purchase a toy and place it into a bin for a local charity.

Help us help Santa this year.

*The ending date for the Toy Drive will vary by charity. Please see individual stores for more details.
