10 Cents Off Gas!

Anyone who follows us knows that we love to have great gas giveaways from time to time.  Beginning Friday, July 22nd, we will roll back prices on our gas pumps 10 cents at select MAPCO – BP locations. Three of our stores will be selected each Friday to take part in this event.  This promotion will take place for 4 hours each and every Friday for the next 8 weeks.

Don’t miss out on this great event because there will be many product giveaways, radio remotes, great games, and family activities.

To find out the locations each Friday, all you have to do is become a fan of MAPCO on our Facebook page and follow along.

That’s it! Follow us on our Facebook site and we will deliver all the locations and activities to your computer every Friday morning.  All you have to do is take advantage of the savings and free goodies.  Oh, and make sure to tell your friends.

Costume Contest Winners Announced

First Place CostumeFirst of all I want to give a big thank you to all of our wonderful fans who sent us photos of their Halloween costume for our “Show Us Your Costume” contest. Although there were lot of submissions, you the customers picked the top six best.

Now on to our placement…

With a little under half of all votes from our reader poll, Amy Thomas comes in first place for her Sock Monkey costume. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Sock Monkey, it’s actually a classic toy that first sprung up around 1900 and has endured to modern-day.

With over a hundred years of history, there is a very distinct and iconic look to the Sock Monkey and Amy said she only wanted to dress up as this toy if it could be done really well.

“I looked around online and couldn’t find any that I liked,” Amy said, adding that her mother has always been very crafty and came up with a plan to put the costume into action.  We didn’t have a pattern, we just started knitting.”

Both Amy and her mother put in close to 30 hours of labor creating the Sock Monkey costume in their spare time.

“It turned out exactly like I wanted…pure perfection!,”  Amy said.

Obviously the majority of our voters agree with her, no doubt recognizing all that hard work. It certainly paid off as Amy will get our top prize of a $100 MAPCO gift card.

But Amy isn’t the only one who will take home a prize. The top five runner-up entries in our contest listed below will get a $10 MAPCO gift card as well.  (more…)

A Very MAPCO Jack O’Lantern

Many people may not realize it, but MAPCO convenience stores sell a diverse selection of produce — including the familiar orange squash that takes center stage this time of year.

Right now you can get a scary good deal on pumpkins, which are just $1.99 each heading into the Halloween weekend. We’re also stocked with apples and plenty of trick-or-treat goodies to pass out to the neighbor kids.

But, not only do our stores sell pumpkins, they also expertly carve them as shown in the picture above.  [We stick with the "MY Mart" imagery for our pumpkins rather than a traditional jack o'lantern face.]

If any of our customers have a cooler carved pumpkin than ours, we’d love to see a photo. Feel free to post a link showing your own jack o’lanterns in the comment section below.

What’s New With MY MAPCO On The Web

As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve been sprucing up our digital presence across the web with a brand new WordPress theme, some shiny new buttons in the sidebar and a bunch of other new social tools to help us connect to our customers.

One of those social tools is e-mail, or more specifically our new e-blasts. Right now we’re focusing on fans of our Quiznos MAPCO stores and our next big promotion, which I’ll talk more about soon. [HINT: It has to do with dimes.]

We’re also stepping up our game on Facebook and Twitter in a very big way. We realize some of you are already following us on these social networks  and we’re cooking up something to show our appreciation. For anyone who is new to following us (or thinking about following), rest assure that we won’t blast you with constant advertisements sent from a robot. We want to be helpful and informative for anyone who’s a fan of MAPCO Convenience stores.  We want to know what you like, what you’d like to see more of, and even what you didn’t like.
